Turas | Pilgrimage

This ‘journey’ will traverse through Donegal’s cultural landscape via a multi-venue exhibition featuring fifteen contemporary Irish based artists exploring the societal shifts that shape our collective identity.

Turas will run in summer 2020 as part of the national Colmcille 1500 commemoration. The exhibition will present current work from a selection of established and emerging artists, chosen to represent a wide range of contemporary practice throughout Ireland.

Turas will also include a curated programme of accompanying events including sonic art installations, film screenings and live art performances.

A series of essays will be commissioned.

Exhibition venues will include the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, An Gailearaí, Gaoth Dobhair, the Glebe House & Gallery, Churchill and An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny. This multi-venue collaboration seeks to provide valuable opportunities to both creative practitioners as well as a broad scope of professional creative workers.
