Random Acts of Puppetry

Random Acts of Puppetry is a new online puppet theatre for Clare primary schools delivered through Zoom. Once a week, children will be whisked away on a magical mystery tour hosted by Eamonn High, a puppet from Your Man's Puppets. Enjoy the hilarity and beauty of puppetry from the comfort of your classroom.

Shows will be designed for all ages, containing a mixture of storytelling, the legend of Billy Goats Gruff and a variety act which will be fine-tuned to each individual audience, finishing off with a guided tour of the workshop and a Q&A session, going behind-the-scenes on how performance can be put together and where the audience may have an input in the process.

Co-hosted by Thomas Baker, an Irish Puppeteer and Puppet Maker for film, TV and live events. Thomas started as a street performer and moved quickly to stage working with companies such as Barnstorm and moved to marionette theatre Stockholm for a number of years to develop his skills further before returning to Ireland to establish "Your Man's Puppets" in 2002.

Thomas has performed with puppets on stages across the globe from France, Borneo, Singapore, Thailand, Russia, Ukraine, UK and India.  He has also worked in television productions for RTE and CBBC, as well as building puppets for other companies.

These performances are brought to you by the Clare Arts Office in partnership with Creative Ireland.  www.yourmanspuppets.com
