Ballina Fringe Festival
Ballina Fringe Festival will take in mid-October, albeit in what will likely be in a different format to previous years, depending on restrictions.
We plan to deliver Year 2 of our Pure Ballina! Street Art Project, for which a call to artists for submissions has just been issued and can be viewed here. With the support again this year of Ballina Men’s Shed, we are planning to work with another group of young people this year – young people who have been restricted to their homes for weeks - through a collaboration with the Ballina Neighbourhood Youth Project. Like last year, the artist who is selected will work with the young people (from Ballina NYP), and will create a number of striking street art pieces at locations around the town. The theme for this year's project is 'Place'.
The images of the Táin Wall on Teeling Street (from last year's project) have been shared extensively on social media across the USA and Italy to hundreds of thousands of people over the past few months, and the completion of Year 2 will also enable us to create a street art walking trail in the town.
Images from last year's project can be seen here: http://ballinafringefestival.ie/pure-ballina/
