Péacóg – Féile Ealaíne don Óige
The 'Péacóg' Art Festival is a bilingual art festival for young people, by young people. The aim is to empower young artists by giving them a stage on which they can create and express themselves in Irish or English. Through their participation in workshops, open mics and events, they will strengthen their artistic skills and gain the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals. The festival hopes to achieve a sense of community in which young people can feel comfortable to practise a gcuid Gaeilge!
The festival will include an art competition to give each participant an opportunity to have their work showcased in our exhibition.
There will be an Open Mic/Mic Oscailte on the 27th November, to give young artists an ardán so they can express themselves as Gaeilge or in English. Sean-nós singers, spoken word poets, amateur actors, dancers of all kinds and anyone with a desire to express are all welcome.
Workshops will be provided to help young people learn new creative skills in the freest and most enjoyable way possible.
Our main aim is to give young people a stage to express themselves, to free their creative spirit, all while embracing the Irish language. As young people ourselves, we live by the motto ‘by young people, for young people’, and hope that this is reflected in our work.
Mar a deir an seanfhocal - Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí!
