Libraries Ireland have partnered with libraries, Irish publishers and Irish writers to bring children’s story-time sessions available online with their fantastic Spring Into Storytime campaign. Visit the website to catch a wide variety of online storytelling from libraries across the country. 

Dublin Circus Project are helping to facilitate bringing ‘The Greatest Showman’ right into your children’s homes with their online #StayAtHome Circus Youth classes for 4-18 year olds throughout the month of April, unleashing the creative know-how behind skills such as Object Balance, Juggling and Poi. Using children’s free time to construct and create something beneficial to the world around them is the aim of the Trocaire Game Changers Home Challenge competition which asks young people to create either a board game, card game or video game which could potentially change the world. Entries can be done individually or in teams, for any competitive siblings! Closing date is not until June 30th so lots of time to make something special. The Heritage Council have created some lovely online video tutorials around drawing for primary school children aged 5-7 years. 

A creative competition with a twist that will suit both boys and girls, Conradh na Gaeilge are running a competition for primary and secondary school students to design a GAA jersey and be in with a chance to win their winning design for their entire class. Hundreds of children around Donegal are participating in an online arts challenge launched by the Regional Cultural Centre Letterkenny, to encourage children to be creative while confined to their homes. The centre plans to have a physical exhibition of the artwork submitted once the country is back to normality but for now, children across Ireland can post their artwork on the RCC Young Artists Facebook page where daily challenges are posted at 6pm each day.
